What we do now
In a typical week, St Paul’s
■ welcomes many in our community to worship God through a daily rhythm of prayer and praise.
■ provides informal spiritual guidance for anyone in need.
■ welcomes local people to socialise over coffee or lunch.
■ creates a safe and friendly environment for young people meeting in groups ranging in age from toddler to teenager.
■ provides meeting space for a wide variety of local organisations and groups, ranging from Slimming World, the Parkinson’s Disease Society and Cruse Bereavement Care, to Citizen’s Advice Bureau, NADFAS and the Chichester
Quilters.
■ resounds to the sound of music from our church choir and
the many bands, orchestras, choirs and music groups who use our venue for concerts.
Around 50,000 people pass through our doors each year. We could greatly increase this number with better facilities.
Throughout the year, St Paul’s
■ conducts baptisms, weddings and funerals.
■ provides one of the largest spaces in Chichester for concerts, conferences and other public events.
■ hosts national music examinations.
■ offers the church centre and garden as an affordable venue for private social events.
■ houses children’s holiday play-schemes organised by the District Council.
