dscf1691Sunday 28th June saw the ordination of our Deacon, Ann, into the Priesthood. Ann joined us in August 2008, and since then has become a much loved and valued member of the church family, as witnessed by the number of people who joined us in witnessing and celebrating. Her family were joined by friends from Horsham, Glasgow and Australia, together with members of our united benefice church, St Peter’s Westhampnett and regular members of the St Paul’s congregation. In total over 300 people made the evening one of worship and celebration.
Bishop Henry Scriven, Assistant Bishop in the Diocese, presided at the service,¬†where we were also joined by Bishop John Hind, Bishop of Chichester, who gave the final blessing. The sermon was delivered by The Rev’d Dr Jeremy Worthen, Principal of the South East Institute for Theological Education.
The service was followed by a celebration buffet, which due to the excellent weather spilled over into the grounds.
