St Paul’s is very proud of the links we have with our local schools.
St Joseph’s St Joseph’s Church of England Infant and Primary Academy
St Joseph’s is our local Church of England junior school and community infant school. We lead collective worship (also known as assemblies) on a weekly basis and we regularly visit the Nursery School. There is a weekly after school club(JAM-Jesus And Me) led by the church. Each term the school attend services in church, usually celebrating Harvest, Christmas, Easter and a year 6 School Leavers service. Twice a term some of the children attend our 10.00am Thursday Eucharist where they lead the prayers of intercession. As the Church school in our parish our Rector serves as a Governor, and our schools worker is regularly in school supporting RE lessons as well as leading worship and JAM club.
Bishop Luffa School Bishop Luffa – Church of England
We have had strong links with Bishop Luffa for many years with both members of clergy and members of our congregation serving as Governors. Many parents who attend St. Paul’s go on to apply for a foundation place at Bishop Luffa, our local Church of England secondary school. Information on the schools admissions policy together with the requirement for the Rector to complete a church support form can be found on the school website HERE. At St Paul’s we operate a register for parents who wish to apply for a foundation place for their child. This means we can accurately record attendance at church services. This ensures that our Rector can complete the church support form in line with the requirements of the schools admission policy. Please note that to apply for a place at Bishop Luffa under Category A (Regular Attendance at a Church of England Church for 2 years or more) your child and/or you need to have been on the register for a minimum of two years prior to your application. For information on being added to the register please contact the Parish Office by email at office@stpaulschichester.org. Parents are informed when our Rector is available to complete the Church Support forms with parents. These appointments usually happen at the beginning of November each year, and once completed we arrange to return the forms to the school.
Jessie Younghusband Primary School Jessie Younghusband Primary School
We are delighted to be able to regularly visit Jessie Younghusband Primary School, where we also lead collective worship twice a term. The school sometimes attends services in church, these are usually held around Harvest, Christmas, Easter and a School Leavers service.
