St Paul's Chichester

Growing in Faith

At St Paul’s we try to honour the human need to grow in the understanding of our faith, to enjoy God in prayer, and to know and support each other in friendship. On this page there are resources to help us do that. These resources change from time to time, season to season, so watch out and please join in. All are very welcome.

Growing in Understanding

Wednesdays in Lent at 7.30pm, including Ash Wednesday.

#Live Lent is the Church of England’s Lent Campaign 2021. A short booklet with a Bible reading for every day and an activity for each week will come to you through the post if you already attend St Paul’s.

If you are a visitor or newcomer, you are very welcome to join us. Please ask at the Parish Office for the booklet. Alternatively order a booklet at https://www.churchofengland.org/resources/livelent-2021-church-resources-gods-story-our-story.

The Lent course helps us find our own story in God’s story and makes suggestions for learning to share our story with others around us.

To join St Paul's Wednesday evening lent course on zoom:
If you are happy using zoom, there will be a course discussion every Wednesday evening of Lent at 7.30pm, starting with an introduction by the Rector on Ash Wednesday. Please email David Foster  at davidfoster@stpaulschichester.org for the zoom link if you would like to join in the course.

Alternatively:
If you don’t regularly use the computer, but on the other hand like the idea of speaking on the telephone to a member of St Paul’s once a week about what you have read, please ring David Foster on 01243 536847. David is co-ordinating a small group of church members to phone you for a natter about the course (and/or life in general if you wish!).

Growing in Prayer

Sundays in Lent at 5.00pm, by zoom, 21st, 28thFebruary, 7th, 14th,21st, 28thMarch

Walking with Jesus: Meditations on Personal Encounters with Jesus in the Gospels.

During a quiet evening service from the Iona Worship Book, led by Clare Herbert, there will be a simple guided meditation (Ignatian Style) led by Clare Gibson, to draw us closer to Jesus in prayer as we walk through Lent. Email Rev Clare Herbert for the zoom link at herbert.clare@googlemail.com

Growing in Friendship

“Live Lent”  will allow us plenty of time for getting to know each other, for support and  news exchange by phone or zoom so do join if you can. After Easter we will resume our regular “Friendship and Fellowship” Evenings to give each other support.
